RideLondon-Surrey - Road Closures This Sunday

Jul 28, 2018

A reminder that RideLondon-Surrey takes place once again on Sunday, so there will be widespread road closures in the area. 25,000 amateur cyclists will be taking on the 100 miles route passing right through the Surrey Hills. The Hombury, Leith Hill, Ranmore and Dorking/Box Hill areas will largely be inaccessible by car for most of the day, but it is still possible to get to Peaslake.

You can view a map of all road closures and timings is Surrey here. The RideLondon website has details of all road closures here. Read on for the best way to avoid the closures and get to Peaslake.

From the south

You should have no problem getting to Peaslake via either Cranleigh up and over Winterfold or Ewhurst up Pitch Hill.

From London/north

From London, your best route is to take the A3 (or other routes from other directions) to Guildford, then follow signs for Horsham/A281 through the Guildford one-way system and out to Shalford. At Shalford, turn left onto the B2128 and follow this toward Cranleigh. Turn left to Chilworth onto the B248 and follow this road through Chilworth and Albury. At the other side of Albury, the road will be closed where it takes you to the A25. Turn right up the hill to Albury Heath, then left onto Park Road towards Shere. Follow this road until the triangular junction with the railway bridge in the right. Turn right here, cross the bridge and then turn immediately left. Continue on this road and you will end up in the centre of Peaslake.
