National Cycle Network Route 22 (NCN22) is part of a UK-wide network of waymarked cycling trails managed by Sustrans that is intended to connect cities, towns and countryside.

The full length NCN22 connects the Isle of Wight to London, passing through the Surrey Hills.

  • 91.6 miles / 147.4 kilometres total length
  • 7hr 40m to cycle the full length at 12mph
  • 36.3% Traffic-free
  • 80.6% Asphalt, 13.1% Unsealed firm, 6.2% Unsealed loose

The Surrey Hills section of route 22 provides a great way to traverse the area between Guildford and Dorking along the relatively flat valley between the North Downs and Greensand Hills with multiple opportunities to branch off via bridleways to reach these areas.

Or it's great as a cross-country / family friendly cycling route in it's own right.
